We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join the Operations team. We require a pro-active leader with mining experience.
This role is on a 8:6 roster with opportunity to FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Gascoyne Region.
Your roleOversee the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team and contractors in a cost effective and efficient manner, ensuring awareness of performance targets, access to the necessary tools to achieve these and that their activities are aligned with operational targets.Promote departmental objectives through effective planning, reliability and monitoring activities.Ensure full compliance with the OHS and Environmental standards by influencing participation in the maintenance teams in initiatives, toolbox/pre-start meetings, investigations, training and participating in and contributing to audits in the workshop and associated work areas.Contribute to the development, implementation and audit of the OHS and Environmental Management Standards and ensure compliance of yourself, department team members and all visitors to the department.Ensure minimal disruption to production through the ready access to critical parts and equipment ensuring smooth access and transition is always available.Enhance business performance through the continual identification and reporting of cost saving initiatives.Utilise assets to maximise return, including the development and application of new procedures, processes and technology where appropriate.Provide documented and accurate periodic reporting of safety, asset performance and cost control, coupled with appropriate variance reports.Provide ongoing leadership and mentoring for maintenance staff.Assist in developing the technical knowledge and expertise throughout the Operations, Engineering & Maintenance teams.Ensure the promotion of a safe work environment by ensuring high housekeeping standards, effective hazard reporting and commitment of risk mitigating strategies.Drive the continuous improvement of systems and processes in achieving best practice standards whilst improving efficiency, safety and expenditure savings.Drive Innovation & Technology with a value-add mindset.About youRecognised trade qualification (essential).Current 'C' Class Manual Drivers Licence (essential).Tertiary qualification in engineering.Project Management training / accreditation.Lean Six Sigma Qualification.Our commitment to youDynamic, responsive and with a can-do attitude - we find ways to make things happen together.
