Based in coastal Central Queensland, we are searching for a well-rounded and seasoned Mechanical Engineering professional.
You will join Cement Australia's largest site and flagship maintenance leadership team in Gladstone, reporting directly to the site Maintenance Manager.
This leadership role provides asset availability, reliability expertise, cost management and leadership in the areas of mechanical maintenance and reliability.
About the role: The Mechanical Services Manager role will be a crucial part of the Gladstone site's maintenance team.
You will be the subject matter expert for every aspect of the mechanical engineering, asset maintenance and repair systems onsite with a capable mechanical engineering and trade team supporting you.
Other key components of the role include: Promote a positive safety culture, actively supports site safety initiatives, standards and procedures, ensuring full team compliance and conducts investigations as required Ensuring maintenance methods, procedures and mechanical assets meets site environmental guidelines Develop a technically component, motivated, functional and cohesive mechanical reliability and maintenance team Ensure systems and processes are in place to identify and manage plant risks Identify opportunities for optimising plant, continuous improvement and maximising value of maintenance spend Actively support development and delivery of maintenance budget Utilise the planning process to deliver cost effective work packaging and a sustainable long-term inventory reduction Effectively manage mechanical asset life cycles and capital replacement programs Responsible for the overall management and delivery of team projects Ensure work delivery continually balances safety/cost/time/resources for successful About you: To be considered for this role, you will be a leader in your mechanical engineering field and have vast heavy industry experience as a maintenance professional, whilst demonstrating an outstanding level of business acumen.
You will be a strong team player and have safety as a front of mind focus whilst positively contributing to the industry-admired site culture.
Other crucial components of your background will include: Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering Proven success in a similar role within a heavy industrial, transport, manufacturing or mining environment (cement experience is advantageous) Strong influencing, relationship building and negotiating skills Demonstrated results of effective project management delivery Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience in CMMS (SAP preferred) Understanding of budgeting RPEQ qualification is desirable Project Management qualification is preferred Advanced knowledge of condition-based maintenance techniques and maintenance strategies and methodologies Why work for Cement Australia?
