About The Project:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Senior Project Engineer to join our team on the Hobson Bay Main Yarra Crossing Duplication Project based in Spotswood, VIC. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience delivering large scale civil construction projects.
Your Role:

Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, and/or Cost/Planning Engineers
Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings
Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements
Participate in planning future requirements including machine tools, ancillary equipment, major plant and labour.
Direct site surveys and preparatory work prior to construction.
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of construction work.

About You:

A bachelor degree in mechanical engineering
5 years mechanical experience
7-10+ years' postgraduate experience, ideally in a tier one contractor setting
Leadership ability to provide mentorship to direct reports
Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk
Demonstrated personal commitment to health and safety

Great leave benefits including 18 weeks paid parental leave with super and up to an extra 18 weeks of super paid on further periods of unpaid parental leave, multicultural leave exchange and two extra days to prioritise your wellbeing.
