The site has significant dispatch operations, capable of providing bagged, containerized, or bulk products for distribution.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving work strategies for all assets within their responsible discipline across the Manufacturing Centre that ensures and improves the availability of the Production Cell(s) of the Manufacturing Centre's Product Line(s) to achieve their objectives across — safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.To deliver these responsibilities, the Mechanical Engineer shall work collaboratively across all Manufacturing Centre departments and across the areas of Work Strategies Management, Defect Elimination, Master Data Management, Conditions Monitoring, Performance Management (KPI's).What you will be doingMore specifically, theMechanical Engineerwill deliver the following within their responsible discipline:Support and execute initiatives for site asset improvement and maintenance using the SAP Computerised Maintenance Management System.Collaborate with maintenance technicians to resolve equipment issues, manage replacements and upgrades, and implement improved practices.Oversee changes to maintenance strategies and master data, ensuring compliance with Orica's standards.Promote the use of reliability tools (e.g., Weibull, FMECA, RBM) and work management processes to enhance equipment and plant reliability.Provide technical support to production teams, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and support plant shutdown planning and execution.What you will bringRole ideally suited to individuals with a minimum experience of 2years in the petrochemical or chemical manufacturing industry with considerable change management and safety components.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Excellent communication skills to ensure strong & efficient collaboration and to promote a culture of shared success and business improvement.Good technical engineering skills and understanding with emphasis on pressure systems, high-speed turbo machinery, furnaces, pumps, machine guarding, maintenance cost analysis, and reliability improvement techniques.Well-developed Root Cause Analysis (5-Why, Apollo) problem-solving and decision-making skills.Good understanding of maintenance cost analysis and reliability improvement tools and techniques (FMECA, RCM, etc.)Good understanding of the SAP Plant Maintenance module and experience working with SAP Hana (preferred).Ability to obtain a national police clearance check.What we offerAs part of a truly global company, you will have the ability to grow and learn in a diverse, collaborative culture.
