GPA is currently leading a number of exciting new opportunities in hydrogen and future fuels, with an established track record in novel projects, including supporting a number of Australia's first projects in this area. We are currently delivering a range of research, pilot, mid-scale and large-scale projects across hydrogen transmission and storage pipelines, hydrogen blending and end-use applications and hydrogen technology projects nationwide, as well as traditional gas pipelines and facility projects.

Job Description
The successful applicant will join a team of pipeline industry experts, who beyond delivering complex pipeline projects, are heavily involved in Australian pipeline standards and industry research projects through the FFCRC, and serve as lead authors on industry guidance documents like the Hydrogen Pipelines Code of Practice.
As a result of continuous long-term stable company growth, GPA is seeking applications for Mechanical/Pipeline Engineers with 5+ years of relevant pipeline experience to join our national team. Depending on the level of experience against the required and desirable skills and leadership qualities, the applicant may suit an engineer, senior or lead role.
The applicant can be based at any of our major or growing offices, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.

Desired Skills and Experience
Australian recognised Engineering degree (mechanical preferred)
Technical Competencies
Familiar with codes and standards related to pipeline engineering including AS/NZS 2885
Experience in the design or operation of pipelines to AS/NZS 2885 and associated facilities (such as delivery, compression and metering/regulation stations) for natural gas or other mediums (experience in Hydrogen, CO2 and Ammonia considered favourably)
Experience working in a multi-discipline engineering team through various project phases; concept studies, FEED and Detailed Engineering, Pipeline operations
Preparation and review of detailed pipeline calculations and reports
Preparation and review of pipeline documentation including specifications and datasheets
Experience in SMS reporting.
Industry Experience (a mix of experience across these areas is valued, but not required to meet all)
Long distance pipelines, remote or rural locations
High pressure pipelines in metro and high consequence areas
Oil & Gas gathering systems (upstream & downstream)
Complementary skills in pipeline facilities (PRMS, pigging facilities, processing and compression).
Experience with alternate fuels and fluids beyond hydrocarbons is valued, including Hydrogen/CO2/Ammonia. However we have a wide range of opportunities and value training and sharing our knowledge to applicants once at GPA.

SMS facilitation experience also valued, as is an interest in developing this skill.
Experience or interest in pipeline integrity and fitness for service assessment
Experience or interest in fatigue and crack growth modelling
Experience or interest in material, metallurgy and pipeline manufacturing
Cost estimating and proposal development
Package engineering
Operational support
Construction & commissioning support experience
