Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Ventia in partnership with the Australian Defence Force require a Technical Supervisor with procurement experience on our Singleton defence base. The position is permanent full-time and will primarily be responsible for managing the service delivery and performance of our Trades team. In addition to this, the incumbent will provide a wide range of TSN procurement services and align procurement activity to the Defence Maintenance Contract goals.
Primary responsibilities:
Lead and supervise Ventia personnel to achieve maintenance outcomes for performance, quality, compliance and safety. Account for labour, repair parts and Maintenance Consumables, and other Commonwealth items and equipment. Conduct maintenance analysis and provide technical maintenance advice. Undertake planning control and governance for Work Orders in association with Commonwealth Personnel. Inspect technical Maintenance and identify where additional quality or independent inspections and checks are required, as well as coordinate investigation material defects and report on unsatisfactory material. Plan and deliver safety meetings, workplace training, CIE for the team, industrial relations meeting. Undertaking and co-ordinating evaluation of submissions. Prepare reports recommending contractual arrangements, liaising with the TSN network. Reviewing procurement opportunities and compliance issues arising from the management within the TSN network. Provide professional advice relating to procurement legislation, other related policies and TSN requirements. Support colleagues in the management of TSN suppliers and/or contracts ensuring compliance terms and conditions. Could you be our next Technical Supervisor?
Demonstrated ability and practical experience in leadership of a maintenance team, management of maintenance activities, technical investigation, quality audits and technical inspections. Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, people management, and client interface. Sound understanding of work, health and safety, security and environmental obligations in an industrial/maintenance environment to ensure compliance to legislative requirements. Proficient in the following systems: MILIS, SAP and/or Microsoft Office Suite. Recognised trade certificate or Certificate IV in a trade relevant to the Contractor Personnel being supervised and work being undertaken. Current Australian open driver licence for C class of vehicles (manual). Current Australian open driver licence for medium rigid and heavy rigid (MR/HR) classes of vehicles. Possess relevant qualifications and/or experience in procurement, planning and scheduling. About Ventia
