About the Role We are currently recruiting for Safety focused Mechanical Fitters to join our Fixed plant team on a dynamic 182 roster based out of Perth. This dynamic roster operates similar to a shutdown roster, featuring 182 shifts per year that vary based on demand. Key responsibilities: Inspection, servicing, adjustment, troubleshooting and repair of the processing plantEnsuring clear communication across team members and to the Supervisor regarding downtime and trouble areasRemoving and installation of hard skirts, soft skirts, billets, liners, idler frames, structural steel, deflectors, chutes, screens, and vibe feedersCarrying out corrective and breakdown maintenance tasks - motor replacements, belts and pulleys, dust suppression and crusher main frame linersGeneral routine inspections of crushers, skirts, idlers, plant raw water (pumps, valves and piping)Following specific maintenance strategies and proceduresOverriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment, and sustainable developmentEnsuring that all documentation and data entry is accurately completedAbout You BHP Operations Services brings people and resources together to improve plant performance. As a member of the maintenance team, you will be recognised as a master in maintenance providing safe, high-quality work every time.
We are looking for individuals who have:
Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting or equivalentFixed plant maintenance experience desired, similar industry experience also consideredExperience maintaining Crushers, skirts, pulleys or gearboxes will be highly regardedExperience in removal and installation of deflectors and chutes also desirableHighly safety-focused individualCapability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management system desirableAbility to identify defective mechanical components or equipmentWhat is on Offer?
