We are seeking to employ highly qualified and skilled Mechanical Fitter/Technician to join and work with our hardworking team of professionals.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Maintenance Fitter's primary role is to provide safe and timely mechanical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution for various machines and equipment within a manufacturing environment.
The role should focus on the efficient use of human and other resources in a safe and healthy manner, the involvement of all staff in improving quality and waste levels, the effective housekeeping of all relevant areas. Feedback to planning to improve on schedules and effective management of all controllable costs in the factory area.
This role requires the employee to have excellent behavioural standards, a can-do attitude with positive thoughts and solutions. The Maintenance Fitter shall possess good leadership and communication skills to think out of the box and involve all appropriate resources to support the operational and production requirements of the business.
DUTIES
Overhaul and repair machinery and equipment.
Undertake on-going preventative maintenance inspections of machinery and equipment, to identify and repair or report critical issues.
Examine detailed drawings or specifications to determine job, material, and equipment requirements.
Attend to machine/equipment breakdowns.
Set-up, adjust and tune machines and equipment to ensure that they function according to specification.
Operate machines to produce parts or by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding, or drilling.
Liaise with external contractors.
Undertake weekend or overtime work when required.
Maintain the maintenance office and workshop in an orderly, clean, tidy, and safe state.
Serve on project teams formed to increase machine performance and reliability.
For parts replacement, identify parts number, and request and raise Purchase Order in Mex for approval.
Report in Mex any Jobs and parts used (breakdown, PM/inspection) as per SOP.
Understand and comply with WHS and Quality policies and procedures, safe work instructions, safe operating procedures and legislative requirements.
Support management as required and directed from time-to-time, which may include but is not limited to training and/or project work.
TRAINING
Required to identify personal training and development needs to Maintenance Manager.
Required to consider and then complete with company encouragement appropriate training which is applicable to job currently undertaken.
Required to actively participate in all training activities including any multiskilling that may be required.
Assist in the training of new employees and existing employee's development.
Required to show interest and participate in the training of employees in your team and their personal development.
HYGIENE
Ensure housekeeping is to highest possible standards for your area of work and where possible improve.
Assist in any corrective actions to improve the housekeeping standard of your area of work.
Aware of the joint responsibility to keep all factory areas up to agreed standards and ensure your team are aware of their responsibilities.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
Exposure to ink and chemical fumes and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder.
Fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
Be aware of the Company WHS Policy and your joint responsibility for your area of work.
Required to identify and report any safety hazards to your manager or the Safety Coordinator.
Required to follow all safety instructions for any equipment used.
Required to follow fire alarm/evacuation instructions.
Assist in any corrective actions required to improve the Health and Safety standards of the factory.
Required to attend and take control of any accident or incident in your area and complete the appropriate Reports for forwarding to WHS Coordinator.

Salary: Between $80,000 and $95,000 per annum + Super
