This role will be located at the Select Plant Australia – Laverton North Depot on a full-time basis.The role is to diagnose, fault find and repair equipment in a timely manner and effective customer service whilst on site.
You'll be part of a broader team of like minded individuals working in a dynamic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesTo work as a team member in carrying out the activities of the workshop team which include (but are not limited to): Applying technical skills as per trade in all areas of work; Hire equipment maintenance and repairsRepairs, major and minor, to equipment, machinery, plant and vehiclesUtilise/Maintain small items of equipment, plant, personal protective equipment and clothing and tools (hand and power)Contribute to the maintenance and scheduling of equipment within service interval schedules (as per the internal processes)Willingness to travel to support remote projects (as required)Testing on equipment, machinery, plant and vehiclesObtain consumables and parts from the store manager and complete all paperwork (as necessary)Ensuring environmental compliance with cleaning, workshop waste products etc.
Undertake with the directions, general guidance and objectives conveyed by the Leading Hand and Workshop Manager, and ensuring all work is conducted safely and to the required standard; Support the role of the Leading Hand by providing assistance with developing and implementing workshop programsUndertake administrative responsibilities, including completion of standard workplace documentation (e.g.
site safety documentation, standard forms, timesheets etc), to the required standard and within the required timeframesEnsure compliance with occupational health and safety (OH&S) and environmental requirements specific to the branchUndertake other relevant duties as directed, consistent within your skill competence and training About YouIn order to be considered for the role, you'll need to hold the minimum requirements below: Previous rail-track experience (essential)Mechanical Trade Certificate (or equivalent)Australian Driver's Licence - Manual C Class (minimum)Australian Construction Induction Card (Blue/White Card)Current Fire Extinguisher Test and Tag Certificate (ideal, but not essential)Current Test and Tag Certificate (ideal, but not essential)Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card (ideal, but not essential)Able to complete and pass a pre-employment medical BenefitsWe work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
