Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team in Dooen, Victoria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of mechanical equipment within our feed production facility. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.
Responsibilities: Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performanceDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing timely and effective repairsCollaborate with the production team to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment reliabilityInstall, assemble and test new machinery and equipment as neededWork closely with other maintenance professionals to coordinate repairs and upgradesKeep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment condition and repairs performedAdhere to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the workplaceQualifications: Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial setting, preferably within the manufacturing or food production industryTrade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a related fieldStrong knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial machineryAbility to interpret technical drawings and manualsProficient in using hand and power toolsExcellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenanceWillingness to work flexible hoursOverall Knowledge and Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skillsPreventative maintenance experienceMechanical hand skills and knowledgeUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and maintenance dataCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceOpportunities for professional development and trainingCollaborative and supportive work environmentSupportive work environment with a healthy work life balanceJT Johnsons & Sons is an equal opportunity employer.
