We're seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our skilled team at our Cardiff Service Centre, where you'll work on industry-leading projects that challenge and sharpen your expertise. Experience with electrical rotating machinery is not just preferred—it's essential.
What You'll Be Doing As a Mechanical Fitter at Sulzer, you'll be hands-on with high-impact tasks, including:
Repair and maintenance of LV, MV, and HV electrical rotating machinery (motors, generators, etc.).Replacing or repairing mechanical assemblies like shafts, gears, seals, impellers, fans, and bearing fits.Dynamic balancing of mechanical assemblies.Conducting precision repairs on shafts, journals, and housings.Using requisitioning systems for parts and materials.Cleaning electromechanical assemblies with specialized tools and techniques.What You'll Bring To excel in this role, you'll need:
A Trade Certificate III in Fitting & Turning or similar.Proven experience with mechanical fitting of large equipment, specifically electric motors and other electrical rotating machinery.Forklift license (desirable but not essential).A customer-focused approach and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.Strong time-management skills and attention to detail.Why Work With Us?
