About the Business Work as part of a strong and cohesive team Midweek Roster | 9.5 hour shifts Based at Camberwell in the Hunter Valley Yancoal Australia is one of Australia's largest pure play coal producers. It boasts three tier one thermal coal mines in New South Wales together with interests in three other metallurgical and thermal coal mines located in New South Wales and Queensland. Yancoal Australia also manages five other Australian coal mines on behalf of related parties. Yancoal currently employs over 4,000 people across its operations. Our Ashton Coal Operations include an underground mine and coal handling and preparation plant, located in Camberwell. The site operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities Reporting to the shift Undermanager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
Supervising the installation, commissioning, maintenance & repair of mechanical plant and equipment on site Completing effective maintenance and fault-finding work on mechanical systems Monitoring mechanical equipment to ensure it remains in a safe & fit for purpose condition in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements Skills and Experience To be successful in securing this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
Minimum 2 years Underground Coal Mining experience (mandatory) Mechanical trade qualification and Certificate of Proficiency (mandatory) Tertiary qualifications in Fluid Power (highly desirable) RII09 – Explosion Protected Diesel Engine Systems Maintenance (highly desirable) Hot Works training (highly desirable) Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets (highly desirable) Dogging High Risk Work Licence (highly desirable) A strong commitment to safety with high level communication & influencing skills, both written and verbal Strong analytical and problem-solving skills A positive attitude towards and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives on site Knowledge of Coal Mining WHS legislation requirements Benefits We offer competitive remuneration packages for our roles.
