Join Bechtel as a Mechanical Fitter for the Pluto Train 2 Project in Karratha!

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tones per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.
What's On Offer: 3:1 roster, FIFO to Karratha with direct flight from Brisbane & PerthFly home morning of day 21, paid at ordinary hours - home the same day!RDO is accrued - choose to have it paid during RNR or at the end of your contractFull time, permanent employment (4 weeks of annual leave, 10 days of personal leave)$5.40 per hour site allowance$1.88 per hour trade allowanceSeverance payment of 2 x base hourly rate per week68 hour work week and weekly payIndustry leading camp facility with a lap pool, wet mess, gym and much more!Skills & Experience A Mechanical Fitter who has completed a 4-year apprenticeship and a Certificate III in Mechanical Fitter (Machining/Fitting), which should be a nationally accredited qualification.Minimum 3 years of Major Construction/Project experience, preferably in an LNG environment.Comfortable working in hot and physical environment.Able to climb stairs, work at heights on ladders, steps and scaffolds.Ability to communicate in English.Reading technical drawings.Ability to follow & completion of ITRs & ITPs.Understanding of PTW, JHA systems.Installs, inspection, servicing and alignment on compressor, generators, turbines, and pumps.Installation, inspections, and alignments on Fin Fan coolers.Set up cooler fan shrouds.Installing motors and shaft bearings.Installation, internal and external inspection, and fit outs on Vessel.Installation of exhaust ducts, waste heat recovery units and expansion joints.Flange management experience, experienced with Torque & Tensioning techniques.Ensure adherence to all site and safety requirements.Embrace additional duties when required by site supervision to do so.Additional Information This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e. wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
