About the role We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Essential Water team in Broken Hill. The Mechanical Fitter will work within the Mechanical Operations workgroup and be based out of the Broken Hill Field Service Centre. In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and improvement works on mechanical equipment throughout Essential Water's network. Essential Water's infrastructure includes pumping stations, water & sewage treatment plants, pipelines and water storage and reticulation systems. About You To be successful in this position you'll be flexible, self-motivated, and able to work well in a team environment. You will also have: A strong commitment to personal and team safety Dedication to achieving great outcomes for our customers and our community Confidence to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Ability to work effectively during times of unplanned events Adaptable to change with a high attention to detail Experience & Skills Proven diagnostic, problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Sound knowledge and experience working with industrial mechanical equipment including various pumps, gearboxes, valves, and machinery.
