We are in ramp up stage which means multiple opportunities to join others as you and the team embark on pivotal journey for our local community and state. We are seeking interest from individuals who hold a certificate III in Engineering or a relevant mechanical trade qualification to join our team at our Ballarat site.
Reporting to the Production manager, this role would see you perform all Mechanical installations to complete the assembly of the train, where no day will be the same but you will have plenty of opportunities to progress through the levels if you wish.
Duties will include: Read, apply technical documentation supplied. Install and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures, hand & power tools. Perform basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway car. Use and manipulate lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace and align subassemblies and components. Perform self-Inspection of railway car components in order to identify defects and ensure quality. Remove and replace defective parts and components. Proficiently cross reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor. Work closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement. Organize work instruction documents, tools and railway car parts daily. Qualifications & Experience: Mechanical Trade Certification or certificate III in Engineering or similar Experience within the manufacturing environment would be advantageous Ability to be able to interpret technical diagrams & drawings High risk tickets or licences (EWP, working at heights etc) would be advantageous (but not mandatory) We Offer: 18 weeks parental leave for primary carers & 2 weeks for secondary carers. 4-day week (36 hours per week) Day roster for better work-life balance.
