Programmed Skilled Workforce, in partnership with TRONOX, are seeking a driven and motivated Mechanical Fitter Apprentice (MEM 30219 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade), for a 4 year period at their Chandala site located in Muchea W.A About TRONOX:With 8 locations in Western Australia, Tronox mines and processes titanium ore, zircon, rare earths and other materials. They also manufacture titanium dioxide pigment, specialty-grade titanium dioxide products and high-purity titanium chemicals. The vivid white pigment produced from titanium dioxide, adds brightness and durability to paints, plastics, coatings and paper. Their global operations makes them one of the world's largest producers of titanium dioxide pigment. The Role: The mechanical fitter apprentice will work with under supervision from experienced team members, learning and developing skills throughout the apprenticeship. Over the course of the 4 year apprenticeship; general duties will include;
Routine Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they are operating efficiently Assisting with Mechanical Equipment: Help interpret drawings, install, troubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical equipment both in the workshop and onsite Safety and Compliance: Ensuring adherence to workplace health and safety requirements is crucial. You'll participate in safety training and follow safety protocols Documentation: Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including any issues encountered and solutions implemented About you, to be successful in this role you will demonstrate Eagerness to Learn: Willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge in mechanical fitting. Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail: Strong ability to think critically, solve problems, and maintain precision in tasks. Strong Work Ethic and Reliability: Demonstrated commitment, dedication, and dependability in all work activities. Effective Communication and Teamwork: Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with team members and supervisors. Ability to Handle Physically Demanding Tasks: Demonstrated capacity to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, extended periods of standing, and working in various conditions. Essential criteria: Successful completion of a Pre-apprenticeship ( Mechanical / Construction / Engineering) Successful completion of Secondary Education (WACE) Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and a drug & alcohol screen. The role will work a 9-day fortnight. With the 4th year of apprenticeship moving to 12hr day / night shift. Location: Chandala Processing Plant (based in Muchea - 57km North East Perth CBD) there is no public transport to site, you will need to have reliable transportation. Note: This position is a residential based role, where you are home after each shift. There is no camp onsite. Ideally you will live within a 40 minute commute.
