Job OverviewKomatsu Underground have secured an 8-year contract to supply and support a new underground mining development located in the southern Bowen Basin.
We're gearing up by building a team of capable service technicians to support our customer on the brand-new machinery we'll be supplying which includes continuous miners, shuttle cars, feeder breakers & multi-bolters.
You'll be offered a tool of trade vehicle, brand new comfortable accommodation & meals and an attractive roster and remuneration package.
These are full time permanent positions, kicking off in September with a three-month period in the workshop completing final assembly and training.

200km from Rockhampton.Opportunity to work on all new mining equipment.New & comfortable accommodation provided whilst on roster.Job stability servicing an 8-year customer contract.Attractive salary package with car, roster allowance and bonus once mobilised on site.Ongoing training and career development.Key responsibilities:Provide customers with pro-active advice and support, increasing equipment performance and productivity.Facilitate Flawless Start-up plans in line with global policy.Develop and standardize equipment and system commissioning plans.Provide advanced technical support for equipment in the field.Coordinate new product field trials and document results including any opportunities for product enhancement.Collate field data and evidence for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for major failures and unresolved reliability issues.Engage with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to offer solutions for customer needs.Qualifications / RequirementsMechanical Trade.Hydraulic qualifications.Experience in mining manufacturing and engineering or in a similar heavy engineering environment with an emphasis on field applications.Exposure to mining systems and applications.Experience in new product introduction for mining systems or heavy mobile machinery.Working knowledge of mining system planning and operation at a mine site.Intimate knowledge of field engineering problem identification and resolution processes within various aspects of the KMC business.Detailed knowledge of appropriate Australian Standards, Mines Department regulations and Hazardous Area Standards.Komatsu is an Equal Opportunity Workplace and an Affirmative Action Employer.
