The Kotzur Group of companies, incorporating Kotzur Pty Ltd in Walla Walla NSW, and Kotzur Bulk Solids Handling Pty Ltd in Toowoomba Qld, is an Australian market leader in the provision of grain and bulk storage and handling solutions. We require the services of an energetic, dynamic Mechanical Estimator to attend to the needs of both existing and potential customers. Working in the Toowoomba, Qld site, you are responsible for attending to a high volume of quote enquiries on material handling equipment. You will be supporting and assisting our estimating team with all day-to-day functions and activities.
Possessing a clear client focus and high-quality communication skills, you will be an integral component of the team and a key contact for fellow staff members, contractors, suppliers, and both existing and prospective clients. A willingness to take responsibility for a task from conception through to completion is essential. Your skills, enthusiasm, and energy will strongly contribute to the continued growth of the Kotzur Group, including maximizing the Group's share of the bulk solids storage and handling systems market.
Broadly, this role spans from reviewing scopes of work, plans, specifications, and contracts, to conducting accurate cost analyses and estimations for our projects. You will be responsible for preparing preliminary estimates for quotes and assisting more experienced estimators with cost reports and final quote submissions. You will require strong communication and customer service skills and be able to work to strict deadlines to ensure request for quote timelines are upheld.
Key Accountabilities: Estimating and quoting of mechanical equipment required for projects and clients.Ensure the cost-effectiveness of equipment and timely delivery to clients.Contribute to the development of bulk storage and handling concepts that meet client needs.Establish effective relationships across personnel in order to achieve an effective work environment.Assist with contract negotiations with third parties including, but not limited to, suppliers, customers, consultants, and contractors.Demonstrate an ongoing focus on improving the quality, cost, margin, and timeliness aspects of projects as they relate to Kotzur Toowoomba equipment.Develop and maintain costing of our range of standard listed products in a timely manner so that product prices are kept current.Liaise with engineering and manufacturing staff to ensure costs of designs, manufacturing, and installation are kept within budget.Skills and Experience: This role requires a sound grounding in steel fabrication estimation.Exposure to CAD (not essential).Microsoft Office suite (with a focus on Excel) and other advanced computer skills.At least 2-3 years' experience preferred; however, we would also love to hear from recent agricultural, mechanical, and mechatronic engineering graduates or those in their final year.Sound mechanical aptitude.Strong work ethic and a high level of customer service focus.Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral, with the ability to gain the trust of customers.An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated to reflect the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
