About The Role:
The main duty of the position is to maintain mechanical equipment on site to achieve optimum availability and cost.
Reports to: Mechanical Supervisor
Duties, Statements & Accountability:
Safe Systems of Work:
Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in the workplace.
Equipment Maintenance and Inspection:
Maintain assigned equipment and conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements. Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance activities.
Operational Deficiency Reporting:
Report all operational deficiencies promptly to supervisors and maintenance personnel. Assist in efficiently troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
Encouragement of Safe Work Practices and Respectful Dealing:
Promote safe work methods and respectful interactions among all personnel. Encourage innovation in work processes and foster strong communication links with staff. Prioritize the safety and well-being of individuals working on-site. Uphold integrity in all professional interactions.
Proactive Self-Improvement:
Seek feedback proactively to enhance personal performance. Take initiative to continually improve skills and knowledge.
Support in Mechanical Engineering Activities:
Assist in various mechanical engineering activities, including research, design, manufacture, and maintenance of machinery and equipment. Prepare drawings, plans, and designs under the direction of supervisors. Participate in the selection of tools and equipment for tasks.
Assembly and Installation:
Assemble and install mechanical assemblies, components, and controls according to specifications and regulations.
Supervision and Organization:
Organize and supervise inspection and maintenance activities for machinery and plant equipment. Ensure that designs and finished work meet specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.

Follow instructions and use correct manual handling techniques.

Complete safety documentation daily.
Report all injuries and illnesses promptly.
Participate in meetings, inspections, and training activities.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
Participate in induction and training activities.
Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding employee relations.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 3 years post apprentice work experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Australian Recognised Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker or equivalent
Site specific (e.g. confined space, working at heights) as required
First aid certificate
Current Driving Licence
