Graduate Engineer Placement Location: Smithfield, Sydney, Australia
Position: Mechanical Engineer – Production Salary: $40-$42 per hour casual rate for a 6 month minimum placement with potential for ongoing permanency
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am-4.00pm
About the Role Our client is seeking a Production Engineer to provide effective support to a large manufacturing business in Smithfield.
The ideal candidate will report to the State Operations Manager NSW and will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing improvements across various operational aspects of the business, including Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), LEAN, quality, ISO compliance, and system standardisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Ensure safety targets are being metMonitor LTI, MTI and RTM reporting for compliance and performance targetsEnsure injuries and incidents are investigated and corrective actions implementedEnsure all incidents are entered correctly into the Safety Management SystemCoordinate WHS related training for relevant staffGuide the leadership team through risk management, including Risk Assessments and Job Hazard Analysis and ensure the implementation of effective controlsReview WHS lead and lag metricsReview corporate reporting metricsReview safety KPI metricsWork with the leadership team and WHS team to achieve the highest corporate safety audit scores possiblePromote and drive the client's Safety CultureRequired Skills/Qualifications Tertiary degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic EngineeringAt least 2 years experience in production industryA WHS certificate or equivalent hands-on experience and knowledgeExperience with internal auditing programsIf you would like to be considered for the role, please apply now or email Hannah Limond at ****** Job Reference: 210107998_1721869998
