Your role: As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead a team that looks after the mechanical aspects of the ship, both at sea and ashore.
You'll be responsible for the vessel's structures and systems, anticipating and solving challenges, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
Whether you have recently finished school, currently studying, already in the workforce or you have no experience at all, we're hiring.
You'll be paid from day one to gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job training.
If you're already studying or ready to study a job-relevant degree at your choice of accredited university, you can join the Navy and have your fees paid for.
You'll earn a salary while you complete your degree and walk straight into a Navy role following graduation.
The professional development you gain as a Navy Engineer enables automatic Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation with Engineers Australia, giving you international recognition of your engineering competency.

For this role, you must be over 17 at time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen and be able to provide evidence that you are enrolled in or studying a Bachelor of Engineering in either Mechanical, Marine/Ocean, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Electrical (Power), or Naval Architecture.
