About Our Role An exciting casual opportunity exists for a suitably experienced and qualified Maintenance Electrician to join our high-performing maintenance team at our Ulverstone facility.
Established in 1943, the plant originally supplied dehydrated vegetables to the WWII armed forces.
In the late 40s it became a rabbit processing facility, and canned peas and frozen vegetables production began in the early 50s.
By 1987, the site had become solely a potato processing plant.
Reporting to the Maintenance Area Manager, the role will provide electrical support to our large scale production operations and will work a variety of days across a Mon - Fri (07:00-15:30) roster.
With base hourly rate of $46.77 (incl 25% casual loading) + overtime opportunities (where applicable) , this is a rare vacancy for those looking to demonstrate a high degree of competency in the electrical field.
What You Will Do Reporting to the Maintenance Area Manager, duties will include (but are not limited to the following): Assist with maintenance, preventative and breakdown electrical tasks throughout our intake, process and packing departments at our facility Ensure site plant and equipment is maintained per the maintenance schedule whilst maintaining safety and maximising production requirements PLC, automation and electrically controlled systems fault finding, programming and connections Work with robotic packaging equipment Work in conjunction with other on-site trades (mechanical fitters + contractors) to ensure work orders are completed to a high standard Participate in continual improvement processes Apply operational standards and procedures About You Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace Hold a current Tasmanian Electrical licence (mandatory) Availability during the week Monday-Friday (07:00-15:30) Demonstrated diagnostic, fault finding and troubleshooting skills Experience with fixed plant electrical works Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures Ability to read and interpret schematics (advantageous) Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated maintenance experience within an FMCG industry plant (highly desirable but not essential) Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills Intermediate user of Windows-based systems and CMMS experience Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to contribute to a team environment Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical incl.
