Responsibilities
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Engineer in Regional WA.
The Mechanical engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the mechanical systems and equipment used in milk production, processing, and packaging operate efficiently and reliably.
Here are the key roles and responsibilities:You Will Be Responsible For
Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, such as milking machines, pasteurizers, cooling systems, and conveyor belts.Oversee the installation of new machinery and ensure it is set up according to specifications.Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary parts and equipment.Implement automation and control systems to optimize operations.Monitor energy usage and implement energy-saving measures, such as optimizing refrigeration and heating systems.Work with quality control teams to adhere to industry standards and regulations.Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Maintain records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Generate reports on machinery performance, maintenance schedules, and energy usage for management review.Work closely with other departments such as quality assurance, production, and supply chain to ensure seamless operations.Skills And Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering: A fundamental requirement to understand principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and material science.Specialized courses or certifications in dairy or food processing technology can be beneficial.Expertise in the design, operation, and maintenance of dairy farm equipment.Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor for designing, simulating, and analyzing mechanical components.Welding and Fabrication Knowledge: Useful for on-the-spot repairs and modifications to equipment if needed.To be Successful in this role, you need to have:Analytical skills to evaluate and improve production processes for better efficiency and reduced downtime.Ability to adapt to new technologies, tools, and industry trends to improve dairy operations.Similar work experience.Ability to adapt to work conditions and perform.Able to complete tasks to high quality while working to a strict deadline.Be reliable and have sound work ethic.What We Offer
