Urban Caravans Pty Ltd is one of the few caravan manufacturers implementing TIG Welded process for hand crafting Aluminum frames of their caravans, combined with custom made internal furniture and fixtures. Urban Caravans is unique in its approach, utilizing its background trades to construct superior caravans. With family history dating back to the 1970s, where they owned and built caravans for many years, the company has developed to produce state-of-the-art caravans.
Urban Caravans now requires a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the team.
About the role: You will utilize your strong mechanical engineering skills in the design of state-of-the-art caravans' mechanical components, preferably with experience in the trailer or closely related manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities: Utilize AutoCAD design to create and oversee caravan designs and specifications according to customers' requirements. Design cost-effective systems and procedures for the integration of new and existing products in the manufacturing process. Work with internal and external stakeholders regarding production plans, production standards, and specifications. Develop, manage, and review production layouts, process flows, and engineering specifications. Analyze and identify operational challenges and make improvements to increase efficiency and output on the production floor. Assist with production planning and scheduling for caravan orders. Assist with purchasing orders using correct measurement technical engineering input and develop and provide delivery schedules for purchase orders to suppliers. Maintain and update Urban Caravans production, ordering, and purchasing software. Evaluate and make recommendations on the feasibility of machining techniques. The ideal candidate must have: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher qualification, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar industry or environment. Great attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
