Job Title: Mechanical EngineerWe are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with Mineral Processing wet plant experience to support our projects across our different regions in various commodities including copper, gold, iron-ore, and rare earth minerals.
The role will require, although not be limited to:
Prepare plans, layouts, and designs with supporting calculations for specifications.Supply drafting and estimating staff with information to assist in the production of detailed drawings, the development of tools, qualities, materials lists, and cost estimates as required.Check plans, designs, materials purchased, and equipment for conformity with specifications.Assist in the preparation of technical details for queries, quotations, contract documentation, technical literature, or in the analysis of failures following customer complaints.Liaise with other engineers regarding development work or the construction of planned structures.Liaise with suppliers, clients, and consultants concerning the design, installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned work.Participate in the planning of projects as required.Contribute positively to ensuring project time and cost KPI's are met - monitor effectiveness of designs, scheduling of work, resource requirements, and review compliance with project execution plan (schedule) and client expectations.Contribute to periodic reporting including:Project progressResource requirementsProject budget versus costPrioritiesAllocation of workTeam needsEnsure checking and review processes are completed.Comply with the Change Management process for engineering design.Estimating, budgeting, final design take-offs (FDT's) and basic document control.What are we looking for? Bachelor of Engineering (Minerals Processing, Chemical, Metallurgy)Minimum 2 years' experience in design/consultancy environment in engineering capacity ideally wet plant.Mineral processing industry experience.RPEQ and/or CPENG and/or P.Eng accreditation ideally.Skills in design tools appropriate to the engineering discipline.Skills in MS Office suite.Familiarity & use of minerals processing simulation software.Sedgman Pty Limited is a market leader in the design, construction, and operation of mineral processing plants for the global resources sector.
