A leading engineering solutions provider is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in bulk material handling and underground coal conveyors.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills while working with top industry clients in a dynamic and supportive environment.
While the role can be based in Brisbane or Newcastle, candidates willing to relocate to Mackay will be given preference.
Relocation packages are available, and flexible working arrangements can be discussed for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities Apply sound Mechanical Engineering principles to the design and lifecycle of underground conveyor systems for coal clearance. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Inventor and ANSYS and Discrete Element Modelling (DEM). Conduct power and tension calculations for underground conveyor systems, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards. Develop 3D models using Inventor and assist in drafting scope of work for equipment concepts. Be the primary technical point of contact for clients, providing support and resolving technical queries. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Attend site visits (1-2 times per month) to perform underground inspections and provide technical expertise on-site. Contribute to the preparation of operation, parts, and maintenance manuals, ensuring clarity and accuracy. Key Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years' experience in the materials handling industry, specifically with conveyors or underground mining equipment. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, ANSYS, and other engineering design software. Strong technical writing skills for clear and professional documentation. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to manage client relationships.
