Mechanical Engineer What you'll do: Perform discipline-specific engineering services such as: Prepare detailed design deliverables, including datasheets, specifications, scope of supply, technical bid evaluations, drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports. Review mechanical vendor data and drawings. Ensure the project scope is clear and identify changes to scope as required in line with project change management processes. Contribute to appropriate studies, analyses, and recommended actions. Participate in relevant meetings, following required checking procedures. Communicate effectively within the discipline team, with clients, and other project stakeholders, and make presentations as required. Technically evaluate vendor equipment supply proposals. Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions and ask for assistance if required. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the discipline. Provide engineering support to brownfield projects' construction/commissioning phases. Actively participate in the personal HS&E performance commitment. Ensure technically sound, fit-for-purpose solutions are developed and documented. Understand piping and pipe supports and the interfaces with mechanical equipment. Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, including Brownfields Engineering, Greenfields Engineering, and Equipment layout. Read and interpret drawings, including general mechanical, piping, and P&ID drawings. Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and discipline-specific software including: Navisworks Bluebeam / Adobe Suite Aconex Maximo Highly effective people skills such as team, interpersonal, and mentoring skills, including the ability to manage time and priorities. Able to identify issues, problems, and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required. Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams. What you'll have: Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognised university, with relevant experience. Registered as a Mechanical Engineer with Engineers Australia. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups and make presentations when required. Experience with pressure equipment design standards; ASME and Australian standards, including Australian requirements for verification and registration is preferred. Experience working with API standards for mechanical equipment. Previous experience with brownfield projects is preferred. Technical and practical experience in the Mechanical & Piping disciplines.
