Due to continual growth, our Milton-based team is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team.
About the role The role will draw on your in-depth technical knowledge and practical experience to complete and lead conceptual and detailed mechanical and structural design and analyses.
You will support less senior engineers with parallel scopes of work from a quality, schedule, and commercial standpoint.
You will be supported by our lead mechanical engineers and encouraged, on a regular basis, to engage in continued professional development that aligns with your interests and goals.
Primary responsibilities: Completing conceptual and detailed mechanical engineering designsCompleting finite element analysis (FEA) to inform engineering decision makingMentoring junior engineers and disseminating your knowledge and experience for the teams' developmentApplication of relevant Australian and international standards to achieve compliancePreparing and reviewing engineering reports, certificates, drawings, and risk assessmentsAssisting in ensuring projects are completed within timeframes and budgetsMaintaining direct communication and relationships with clientsContributing toward proposals for future project opportunities.About you Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical, with 5-7 years' experience in a similar role (candidates with consulting and manufacturing experience will be highly regarded)In-depth theoretical understanding of first-principles engineering and proven working experience with FEA (candidates with Strand7 experience will be highly regarded)Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in application of structural design standards and material design standards under relevant Australian StandardsDemonstrated knowledge and experience designing some or all of the following mechanical systems:Cranes, winches, conveyors, trailers, pressure pipework, vessels or tanksDemonstrated knowledge and experience designing some or all of the following structural systems:Skids and transport frames, workshop stands, stairways, ladders, and platformsProven CAD modelling and drafting experience (candidates with Autodesk Inventor experience will be highly regarded)Excellent problem-solving and time management skillsWhat's on offer The role offers a highly competitive remuneration package; but more than that, the role will see you working in an exciting environment and driven organization with autonomy and room to grow.
