Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) is a consortium comprising of industry leading Tier 1 organisations – John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. Sydney Water has partnered with D4C to deliver design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services across their southern region - from Bondi to Gerringong, and out to Georges River. D4C is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic, diverse and high performing team in an exciting time of growth.
We need your skills and expertise to help Sydney Water deliver a $34 billion dollar program over the next 10 years to build, maintain and protect the future of our iconic water resources.
Primary Purpose The Works Estimator is responsible for the managing the estimation of works for new tenders and ongoing projects by way of building up rates, schedules, quantities, and pricing across a range of project types involving both Water and Wastewater assets. The Works Estimator will work with Construction and Delivery Team to develop estimates for a range of treatment and network infrastructure assets. Assets may include pump stations, treatment plant mechanical and electrical renewals or upgrades, chemical dosing or odour control equipment.
Key Accountabilities Collaborate with inhouse Design, Construction, Safety, Proposals and management teams to ensure accurate and timely estimation of works. Provide detailed analytical support for the preparation of project cost plans, budget estimates, tenders, bids and business cases, ensuring resource allocation is accurate for estimation purposes. Implement project cost estimation standards, procedures and tools. Maintain a benchmarking framework for projects, providing trend analysis to improve cost methodologies - using first principles, past projects, and various other data sources. Maintain up-to-date supplier and pricing databases. Apply knowledge of Cost Breakdown and Work Breakdown structures to enhance project outcomes. Collaborate with the construction team to gather site feedback and integrate insights into future project estimations. Support the HSEQ requirements of D4C and Sydney Water. Highlight any potential issues with information or key stakeholders to the Lead Estimator.
