We currently have a career opening for a suitably qualified and capable Mechanical Design Engineer to join our products and engineering team, which includes mechanical, civil, electrical, and controls engineers who design and process products for a diverse customer group.
This role will include working at our offices in Moe and Morwell.
Our engineers are team-oriented and comfortable working with customers or assisting Safetech manufacturing and installation staff. Innovative thinking and leadership are encouraged, with opportunities to develop and implement new ideas welcomed.
Responsibilities:Designing and engineering product ordersAssisting sales staff with customer enquiriesCreating sales and manufacturing drawings and BOMsInteracting with manufacturing, installation, and purchasing staffTracking, documenting, and implementing design changesActive participation in new product developmentIdentifying and evaluating savings and product improvement ideasMinimum Requirements:Tertiary qualification in engineering - mechanical or mechatronics5+ years as an EngineerExperience in a similar role, preferably with a background in industrial equipmentExcellent mechanical and electrical skillsTrained in 3D Modelling software, Autodesk Inventor preferredCapacity to evaluate work practices, implement systems, and suggest alternatives and refinementsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAn appreciation of engineering workshop practice including welding, steel fabrication, machining, mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and hydraulicsPlease submit your application addressing the core duties, including a current resume and a letter of application, noting your address/suburb via the APPLY NOW link.
