Mechanical Design Engineer

Xylem is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer at our Perth location.
The role will be responsible for the delivery of locally engineered mechanical design solutions with best engineering practice and compliance with design standards, to form a complete packaged supply with Xylem's core practice.
The role: Takes ownership and accountability for mechanical designs promptly, ensures designs are fit for purpose, cost-effective and innovative, and in compliance with customer specifications, Xylem standard guidelines, and relevant Australian, New Zealand, and international standards.Work closely with key stakeholders to create a local standards package and portfolios.Applies "One Company" lens to locally engineered mechanical solutions, focused on all of Xylem's core product portfolios including pumps, mixers, aerations, blowers, filters, decanters, and instruments, with applications across markets of water/wastewater transportation, treatment, mining, agriculture, food and beverage, and aquaculture.Responsible for working throughout the design project life cycle, from concept design to detailed design for construction and fabrication, through to build, installation, and commissioning.Technical management of supply/subcontractor RFQ packages including scope and specifications.Carry out job-based design/drawing reviews and checks when assigned by the engineering and design manager.Provide engineering calculations and verifications.About you: 5 years prior experience in Mechanical Design EngineeringPrior experience in the Water and Wastewater Industry (highly desirable).Experience in 2D and 3D CADStrong ability to influence stakeholders.Apply Now to become part of a loyal, hardworking team and join us on our journey to solve water!
