This extraordinary opportunity to work on equipment from small hand tools through to large earthmoving equipment certainly makes the days fulfilling, and the successful applicant will be able to continue to build on a very valuable skill set.About the roleMaintenance and RepairYour duties and skills required:Maintenance of Hire equipment.Repairing equipment as necessary.Carrying out scheduled servicing.Attending breakdowns where necessary.Fault finding and diagnostics ability across a variety of equipment types including Small Motor (Petrol/Electric), Access Equipment (Electric/Diesel), Rollers, Excavators, Compressors, Pumps, Skid Steers, Message Boards, Light Vehicles Toyota/Mazda, and Isuzu Tilt Trays and tippers.Basic computer skills for maintaining service records.Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and other staff members.On call after hours and weekend work may be requested on occasion (rotational roster).SafetyCo-operate with Handy Hire in managing safety in the workplace. Follow all safety instructions and use personal protective equipment where required.Assist with other workshop duties such as customer service.Assist with yard duties, loading or unloading vehicles.Keeping the workshop and service area clean, tidy, and safe.Skills and experienceCar Licence (must have).Forklift ticket (desirable).Demonstrate clear and open communication skills.Proven experience as a mechanic.Able to time manage jobs with attention to detail.Strong work ethics and commitment to safety.
