Job Description: The Mechanic works within the Maintenance Team ensuring on-time delivery of surface equipment as per operational demands. The Mechanic Technician improves maintenance related non-productive time ratio and enhances maintenance efficiency of the Reservoir Performance assets. Some mechanic positions are primarily FIFO onboard drilling rigs, whilst others are predominately within the maintenance base. Reservoir Performance operates assets across Wireline, Well Testing, and Coil Tubing and Fracturing Services.
The Mechanic uses experience, proprietary maintenance manuals, and standard work instructions to ensure the performance of the maintained assets. Our manuals contain considerable information, which is combined with our technician's practical expertise and knowledge to maintain and troubleshoot failed assets. The Mechanic reports their work within the Maximo maintenance system.
Roles and Responsibilities: Ensure on-time delivery from a range of equipment including deck engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation, and low voltage electricals. Maintain assigned assets following maintenance programs outlined within a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Utilize Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs, and equipment maintenance. Update the system with entries such as movements for equipment traceability, work orders, parts used, and time to maintain. Improve equipment reliability of the Division's assets. Ensure all assigned equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, resulting in correct functionality and minimum failures. Improve asset availability by reducing waiting for maintenance times. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and participation in failure investigations. Follow fixed-step training programs. Interface with Field Operations to provide mechanical knowledge to our operations at oil/gas well sites. Advise users of correct operating procedures to prevent failures. Participate in continuous improvement culture, initiatives, and improvement plans within the location to improve asset utilization, reduce cost of service delivery (CoSD), reduce downtime due to maintenance, and to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians. Position is both field and shop based. Qualifications and Experience: Technical Certificate in Engineering, Mechanical or Manufacturing. Min 5 yrs experience with mechanical in oil & gas or relevant industry. Must demonstrate expertise in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. Ability to run required services, supervise operations, and manage people, interact with clients and other related parties. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills essential.
