Position Overview:As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Fitter, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical systems, specifically diesel-powered equipment and heavy machinery. Your expertise will help ensure that the plant runs efficiently during scheduled maintenance, while adhering to strict safety protocols and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered machinery and mechanical equipmentDiagnose and repair mechanical faults in diesel engines and heavy vehiclesInstall, align, and dismantle mechanical and diesel equipment as requiredCollaborate with the maintenance team to meet project deadlines and ensure smooth operationsEnsure strict compliance with safety protocols and procedures in a high-security, defense-focused environmentRequirements:Trade qualifications as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)Proven experience in heavy diesel mechanics, ideally within the heavy industry or defense sectorStrong diagnostic, problem-solving, and fault-finding skills with a focus on diesel engines and systemsAbility to work in a physically demanding environmentA commitment to safety and delivering high-quality work at all timesAbility to pass Drug & Alcohol Testing and maintain a clean criminal recordA valid Driver's LicenseAbout You:We're looking for candidates with a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety.
