Description MD Program Lead, Kimberley Centre for Remote Medical Training  Broome Campus Academic Level (C/D), Full time (negotiable)  New program to establish the Kimberley Centre for Remote Medical Training (KCRMT) Rewarding opportunity to be part of the foundation leadership team   Competitive salary + 13.75% super + remote allowance & 2 weeks additional leave  (Relocation package will be provided for those relocating to Broome)   ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY   Since its inception in 1989, Notre Dame has become a leader in higher education and now has over 12,000 students enrolled across its three main campuses in Broome, Fremantle, and Sydney.  Notre Dame is an Australian University which embraces both the modern Australian university tradition and the ancient and esteemed traditions of Catholic universities both in Europe and North America.   ABOUT THE NEW PROGRAM   Kimberley Centre for Remote Medical Training (KCRMT) is a Commonwealth funded, end-to-end rural medical program based on the University's Broome campus. KCRMT is one of the components that forms the University's RHMT program which sits within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery and Health Sciences.  The aim of KCRMT is to contribute to strengthening the medical workforce in the Kimberley.  This is achieved through health research and the delivery of a fully accredited 4-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program that is supported by dedicated academic and professional staff based in the Kimberley.   The program will transform the Broome campus, Kimberley, and Pilbara regions and develop the medical workforce in the region.  This role reports to the Professorial Chair of KCRMT and oversees the delivery of the KCRMT MD Program and is responsible for coordinating tutor staff, students, and placements.       Key responsibilities    Coordinating the delivery of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) curriculum for all four years of the KCRMT MD program in relation to tutorials, staff and clinical and non-clinical attachments. Supporting the development and delivery of PBL, clinical skills and other relevant tutorials. Preparing and revising School documentation including Course Handbooks each year. Providing supervision and oversight of the KCRMT program tutors including recruitment, peer review of teaching and professional development activities. Coordinating and providing leave relief for tutors during the academic year as needed. Providing coordination and pastoral care to the medical students in conjunction with Group Tutors and KCRMT program Head of Student Matters. Overseeing all clinical attachments, including coordinating rosters and processes, ensuring consistency with the curriculum. Providing feedback and advice to key stakeholders including National Head of Medical Education, Head of Assessment, Heads of Discipline and Heads of Domain regarding the curriculum and delivery. Provide advice to the National Head of Student Selection regarding the selection of students via the KCRMT pathway for rural training. Providing assistance with the development and implementation of student assessments and examinations. Chairing debriefing and planning tutor sessions   ABOUT YOU   Possession of a medical or professional health degree registrable with AHPRA is desirable, not mandatory. A Ph.D. or a Fellowship of a relevant professional body or a Master's degree with 5 years teaching and coordinating experience in the Higher Education sector. Understanding of the application of Problem-Based Learning in the delivery of medical curriculum. Experience in developing skills of tutors in the delivery of Problem-Based Learning. Demonstrated commitment to pastoral care of students. Demonstrated leadership and management qualities. A passion for indigenous health and building relationships with indigenous elders and community groups. A passion for rural and remote health promotion.
