As one of only a few national law firms with a head office in Brisbane, a rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced, strategic and results oriented Head of Marketing to lead the national marketing function.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will work with an internal team of five (as well as having access to external contractors and marketing resources) to execute services relevant to seven practice areas and more than 50 Principals.
This role offers both incredible diversity and opportunity, and is suited to someone with exceptional interpersonal, leadership, strategic and management skills, who is looking to build and enhance a best practice marketing and business development function.
Key Responsibilities Develop, manage and execute the firm's national marketing strategy – covering all aspects of marketing, communications, brand, business development and client experience relevant to the firms' key stakeholders. Understand the firm's clients (private client and corporate client) and develop targeted strategies and campaigns to attract, retain and maintain them. Lead, train and mentor the internal marketing team to deliver exceptional high quality marketing services and outcomes. Identify and measure the ROI of marketing initiatives relevant to different client and industry sectors – whether that is relationship management for corporate clients or campaigns and digital marketing for private clients. Identify, recommend and implement relevant market-leading MARtech solutions to assist with improving efficiencies, personalisation and enhancing service delivery. Develop, implement and execute client engagement and relationship management programs to enhance client satisfaction and foster long-term relationships. Deliver training and development on marketing and business development skills relevant to Principals and lawyers. Review and interpretation of the firm's business intelligence data relevant to key clients and stakeholders to inform strategic marketing and business development pursuits. Review and influence the firm's market position by ensuring brand integrity and key messages are consistently applied and upheld across all marketing channels. Identify and support the creation of value-focused marketing content to be shared across relevant marketing channels and platforms. Manage the firm's digital marketing functions, including social media, website and email marketing. Direct the marketing team to deliver high-quality strategic events, sponsorships and sporting entertainment activities. Direct the strategic approach to national tenders – including pre-positioning, responses, and assessment of ROI for the firm's key clients. Identify, review and analyse market trends and relevant competitor activity relevant to the firms key stakeholders to assist with benchmarking and identify growth opportunities. Experience The successful candidate will have previous law firm or professional services experience in a senior marketing role where they have managed a team and multiple stakeholders.
In addition to proven experience in marketing and/or business development and leadership, we are looking for the following:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage, delegate and deliver a high volume of work across teams. Exceptional project management skills and experience Inclusive and effective leadership skills to build, motivate and manage a high-performing team. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and very high attention to detail. The ability to think strategically with a track record of developing, leading and implementing successful marketing and business development strategies. Experience managing client teams or industry / sector groups. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. High level of integrity and ethics, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Technical experience: Experience with the following systems, tasks and/or processes is advantageous:
• Preparation of board or executive reports
• CRM and ERM systems – particularly HubSpot or Client Sense
• Analysis of BI data
• Email marketing and automation systems (particularly Active Campaign)
• Digital marketing – WordPress, SEO, GA (advantageous but not essential)
• Advanced skills in the Microsoft Suite are an expectation (MS Word, PPT, Excel)
