McIlwain are seeking an experienced Project Engineer who will play a crucial role in helping to deliver a considerable slope stabilisation project in the Scenic Rim. The successful candidate will have a safety focus and be interested in multiple facets of Engineering, including cost control, quality management, procurement and planning.
The Cunningham Highway Bushfire Restoration project is one of McIlwain's most significant project wins in the company's history. Having already successfully delivered other Geotechnical Slope Restoration projects, McIlwain are excited to work on such an important project for the region.
Duties: Assist the Project Manager in the administration of the project, including project monthly claims, variations, responses to clients, extensions of time and delay claims including budget entry in costing system. Complete regular site visits to co-ordinate and liaise with the client's representative, Site Supervisors, Foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers, as necessary. Assist with the review of quality and safety on site as undertaken by the Site Supervisor. Comply with project safety and quality KPIs. Plan and implement the engineering program, including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones and staff requirements. Develop & update a short-term program. Effectively manage the quality system to ensure all Lots are raised & conformed in a timely manner. Ensure all RFIs are submitted, approved & closed out in a timely manner. Identify, assess and raise non-conformances. Develop non-conformance reports (NCRs) including corrective and preventative actions, in corporation with the project team, as required. Skills & Experience: BEng in Civil Engineering (minimum). 4+ years post graduate experience in civil construction. Experience with TMR Specifications and Geotechnical Slope Stabilisation projects highly regarded. McIlwain is committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive culture of opportunity.
