Job Overview: The Field Project Engineer (Subsea) Operations Engineer (Marine) applies their conceptual knowledge of Offshore Marine Construction Operations and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward field problems. They will analyze possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as build knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. This role understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. The Project Engineer may be involved in all stages of a project life cycle, from providing technical support to early engagement in commercial pursuits through to final project closeout. The role is office-based; however, regular on-site field support (construction sites and offshore locations) is required to properly execute job duties.
Essential Qualifications and Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, subsea, ocean, petroleum, energy, or chemical preferred) or a related field 7 years of experience in the Offshore industry Familiarity with project execution practices and engineering processes including general conceptual knowledge of offshore operations practices Familiarity with offshore construction methods, which may include offshore pipelay, structure installation, floating facility installation, flex lay, subsea hardware installation, pre-commissioning, and/or decommissioning Proficiency in using project planning software including Microsoft suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project) Understanding of engineering principles, technical drawings, and specifications Knowledge of relevant codes and standards within the EPCI industry Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders Strong interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration within cross-functional teams Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively Demonstrated flexibility and resilience in dealing with unexpected challenges or changes in project requirements Meticulous approach to work, ensuring all tasks are carried out with accuracy and precision Strong organizational skills, maintaining complete and well-documented records Demonstrates understanding of cost and risk management and actively seeks to achieve added value Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Ensure that all work is carried out safely in compliance with Health, Safety, & Environment policies and procedures Prepare installation procedures by the Level II procedure with due regard for safety, as defined by the Operations Engineer Recommend changes in technical details and drawings to enhance safety and installation procedures Develop or review loadout and sea fastening mobilization and readiness plans for transportation of materials/structures to the offshore site Actively participate in project Job Safety Analysis, if applicable, and communicate and implement requisite control measures Review and retain project drawings and documents, reporting discrepancies to the Project Manager Ensure planned work is defined within the capabilities of the proposed equipment Maintain project files in the office and field in accordance with project requirements Prepare installation procedures outlining methods, techniques, practices, and sequencing to perform work Prepare materials for construction and liaise with the project coordinator for procurement Issue Loadout Mobilization Readiness Checklists applicable to the work Coordinate with various interfaces including Vessel Managers, Operations Managers, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure necessary equipment and personnel are available Witness/inspect pre-mobilization readiness checks and testing, acknowledging the receipt of materials for offshore installation Coordinate with Production Engineers and verify loadouts of fabricated items required for the project Liaise with customer representatives and subcontractor representatives at the offshore site Ensure contract/project-related documentation is maintained and/or transmitted to the Customer at the site Monitor the progress of the work and site conditions, advising the project team of developments that may affect the project Advise the Offshore Construction Manager and/or Barge staff regarding planning and execution of work Participate in the resolution of technical problems arising during offshore installation Oversee procurement of materials and installation aids associated with assigned scope Assist in oversight and management of Subcontractors Plan and supervise execution of pipeline pigging and testing operations by approved project procedures Prepare Post-Job Reports by Level II Procedures Prepare/collate as-built documentation and records by contract requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr
