Are you a mature couple with a passion for hospitality, the environment, and exceptional service? Kinloch Wilderness Retreat, located in the stunning natural beauty of Glenorchy, is seeking a dynamic duo to join our team and manage our intimate Fernery Restaurant , offering a small lunch menu thoughtfully curated and a fixed-price set menu dinner daily.
About the Role:
Daily Prep: You'll be responsible for preparing from the daily prep list. Lunch Service: Short-order cooking from a small, thoughtful menu featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Dinner Service: A 3-course fixed-price set menu served at 6:00 p.m. each evening. Serving: You will also serve guests in the restaurant, providing a warm, welcoming dining experience. Bar Snacks: Available throughout the day while the bar is open, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for our guests. Shifts: 5 days per week, from Wednesday to Sunday, with shifts worked together. Skills Needed: Good, fast motor skills to handle busy times while maintaining a calm and relaxed demeanor, ensuring guests feel well cared for even during peak periods. About Us: At Kinloch Wilderness Retreat, the environment is at the heart of everything we do. We are Gold Sustainability accredited and are working towards B Corp certification , reflecting our dedication to operating in a way that benefits both people and the planet. We are seeking full-time permanent staff, but also offer shorter-term seasonal positions for those looking for a temporary role.
About You:
Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality roles, ideally in a similar dining setting. Strong focus on customer service, teamwork, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Computer literate and systems-focused – capable of managing bookings and operations efficiently. Passionate about healthy, environmentally-conscious food. Able to handle both cooking and serving responsibilities in a small, intimate dining environment. Ability to work swiftly and efficiently during busy times while keeping a relaxed and approachable attitude. Must have residency or a longer working holiday visa . What We Offer:
