The Opportunity
We are seeking a Matter Management Analyst to join our New Business & Enterprise Risk team on a 12-month maximum term contract, based in our Sydney office.

Reporting directly to the Senior Matter Management Analyst, you will ensure that the maintenance of the client and matter data in the Firm's Practice Management system is accurate and up to date.

You will work closely and in a timely manner with the legal teams and the NBI team globally, to ensure that the team are able to provide an efficient function for the business including supporting offices within the same time zone (predominantly Australia and Asian offices).

Key responsibilities include:
Attend to requests promptly via a workflow system.
Attend to the set-up of all processes for clients and matters globally, including creating new clients and new matter records.
Maintain these records throughout the lifecycle including matter plans, change of payor and parties.
Assist secretaries and the other New Business Intake teams with enquiries on the correct set up of clients and matters to ensure compliance with the regulations, liaising where relevant with the Business Finance, Risk Management and Tax Teams.
Liaise with Business Development, Business Finance and Partners with regard to special client requirements and the feasibility of being able to put in place those requirements.
Transition of legacy practice management data into updated structures and assist with general data cleansing.
Respond to ad hoc requests via email or Teams call.
Provide assistance to the Senior Matter Management Analyst and Matter Management Manager.
Comply with WHS obligations and responsibilities in accordance with the requirements for this role.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Ideally educated to degree or qualified in Risk and Compliance (or other related analytical field).
Previous experience in the Legal Sector, Risk and Compliance or other related analytical fields, including billing or finance is highly regarded.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to use initiative and be pro-active.

The team:
The New Business & Enterprise Risk team is responsible for the resolution of complex legal and commercial conflict problems globally.

We play a key role in the development and shaping of firm strategy globally by liaising with Sector Lead Partners, Regional / Global Heads of Practice and Business Development to ensure that any new instructions are a commercial fit for the firm.
