The Midwifery and Child Health Unit Manager is a vital leadership position responsible for the management and coordination of maternity and child health services. In this role, you will oversee service delivery, ensuring safety and quality while collaborating with key stakeholders.
Emerald, located in Queensland's Central Highlands, is a lively town known for its rich agricultural roots, particularly in cotton farming. It features modern amenities alongside its rural charm, with parks and local dining options.
Emerald Hospital is located 300kms west of the Queensland coastline. The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald. Emerald Hospital is a 32-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across emergency, acute care, perioperative services, maternity, infusion services, HITH, child health, mental health, community and primary care.
Emerald Maternity Services provide care for over 500 women each year with an average of 320 births per annum. Options for women are provided through standard core and Midwifery Group Practice models of care. Child Health Services encompass Emerald, Blackwater and Springsure townships.
About the role:The Midwifery and Child Health Unit Manager position is a key leadership role with management accountability within the maternity and child health teams. You will make a significant contribution to the operational leadership, function and co-ordination of the units and oversee the safety and quality aspects of service delivery in collaboration with key stakeholders.
The Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) is an experienced Registered Midwife (RM) who is able to perform at an advanced level of clinical practice and possesses the relevant business acumen in order to manage the operational components of the role. The Midwifery Unit Manager works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary maternity team to promote evidenced based safe maternity care.
About you:Mandatory qualification/s: Registered Midwife with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA).A relevant postgraduate diploma or Master's degree is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.Evidence of RANZCOG Foetal Surveillance course completion within 2 years, and with minimum of level 2 competency obtained.Evidence of continuing professional development.What we offer:Salary information: Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 p.a. is comprised of:
