Council recognises the benefits that MCH can provide to children and families, and the important role that the service plays to improve the early identification of children who need more support.The OpportunityMelton City Council's Maternal and Child Health (MCH) team is going through some exciting changes as the first standalone Maternal and Child Health business unit in Victoria in a community of rapid growth. If you are an experienced MCH nurse and passionate educator, coach, and mentor with a strategic eye for supporting a growing community, then this job is for you.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and evaluate programs to support nursing students, student MCH employment model nurses and graduates in the transition from novice to independent practitioner.Utilise specialist knowledge and experience to promote a culture of research, quality improvement and educational excellence.Develop strategies to promote and attract MCH students, student MCH employment model nurses and graduates.Mentor, coach and provide high-quality supervision for students, student MCH employment model nurses and graduates, and provide advice or support as appropriate.About youTo be successful in this role you will have the following:Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and a Registered Midwife, and hold an accredited postgraduate degree/diploma (or equivalent) in maternal and child health nursing.Possession of a recognised education qualification e.g. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, or willingness to obtain.Demonstrated experience in providing clinical education programs and preceptorship of students.Experience working in MCH nursing for a minimum of five years.Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.How To ApplyIf you require further information about the position, please contact
