Join the Maternal & Child Health team at CGH as a Coordinator (Permanent, 1.0 EFT) and lead family-centred services across the Wellington Shire!About Central Gippsland Health Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a subregional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond.
The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).
Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, 3 operating theatres, day procedure unit, and oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and surgical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
About the Department The M&CH service is provided by a team of nurses located at Sale, Maffra, Rosedale, Heyfield and Stratford.
The nurses work independently with their families and maintain a strong team approach for overall service provision.
The M&CH team maintains strong relationships with other agencies and clinicians working with families with young children including The Orange Door, Child Protection, paediatricians and allied health.
The service aims to build strong collaborative partnerships to facilitate family focused, integrated, multidisciplinary support for families.
About the Role The position will work collaboratively to provide a high quality, effective Maternal & Child Health service (M&CH) at CGH.
The aim of the service is to strengthen the wellbeing of children, families and the community through family centred practice and implementation of the Key Ages & Stages framework.
The position holder will provide professional and clinical leadership to the service.
Duties Lead a culture of excellence, ethical conduct and interdisciplinary collaborationProvide effective professional leadership and support the day to day management of the service, including acting as a clinical resource and mentor for all staff and facilitating a clinical mentorship program for the teamProvide clinical supervision, leadership and membershipParticipate in the management and supervision of staffParticipate in administrative duties appropriate to the Coordinator level, which could include managing the staff establishment, participating in recruitment activities, supporting budget development and managing leave entitlements (in collaboration with the line manager)Facilitate the range of student and graduate placementsMandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience Registered nurse & registered midwife holding current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation AuthorityPost Graduate Maternal & Child Health qualificationProven and significant experience as a Maternal & Child Health nurseUnderstanding of and experience in application of the M&CH Key Ages & Stages FrameworkPreferred leadership/coordination experiencePreferred Lactation qualificationCurrent Driver's License (evidence must be provided)Application Please attach your resume and cover letter to your applicationStatement addressing Selection Criteria including qualifications, experience and Leadership and Technical Capability Requirements as outlined in the position descriptionFor questions regarding the position, contact Nurse Unit Managers (Womens and Childrens) – Kim Costin or Kellie Gartung at or All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate and obtaining a Working with Children Check.
