About the role As the Master Service Plan Officer, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Network Development and Maintenance (NDAM) Group.
The Master Service Planning Officer is responsible for assisting in the development and management of the V/Line rail and coach passenger timetables, ensuring they meet passenger, operational, regulatory, and performance requirements. This role also involves coordinating fleet plans and supporting master freight scheduling on the V/Line network.
Key Accountabilities include: Developing Master Timetables: Research, plan, and develop master timetables for V/Line passenger services (rail and coach), incorporating feedback and meeting operational and regulatory requirements. Combine RailSys modelling outputs, DTP scope, and V/Line performance requirements to build operationally sound, passenger-focused rail timetables. Administering and Evaluating Timetables and Fleet Plans: Administer the master timetable and fleet plan and evaluate its operation using advanced analytical techniques. Supporting Timetable Changes: Provide input and support for the development and implementation of changes to the timetable and/or fleet plan. About you The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with experience in rail and coach planning, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in relevant software. They should possess excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage and develop operational timetables.

Experience in a rail planning environment, ideally in coach and bus planning. A familiarity with rail fleet planning software and rail modelling and simulation software is advantageous.
