Reporting to the Site Marine Manager, you'll provide professional seamanship and marine engineering expertise, maintaining equipment and ensuring operational readiness.
Your focus will be on compliance, safety, and the efficient running of vessels.
As a Master < 45, you'll make a positive impact by: Managing and participating in shipboard drills and exercises Overseeing general marine operations, including berthing, anchoring, and cargo handling Conducting marine engineering tasks and maintenance relevant to your qualifications Managing vessel and crew to ensure operational safety and compliance Supporting personnel training and vessel maintenance planning Administering safety logs and ensuring vessel readiness for operations Collaborating with team members to support Naval operations Serco is a place for you To be successful in this role, you'll have: AMSA Certificate of Competency as Master <45m near coastal NC Certificate of local knowledge in Sydney Harbour Experience as a Master/Engineer on vessels of a similar size Ability to manage vessel crew and handle multiple tasks independently Current First Aid Certificate and a valid driver's licence Ability to gain Defence Baseline Security Clearance Understanding of Navy operating practices (desirable) Excellent organisational and time management skills You will also hold or be able to obtain: MED 1 Certificate of Competency Statement of Attainment in Safe Cargo Operations on Oil and Chemical Tankers Statement of Attainment in Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention Cert IV in Training and Assessment High Risk Licences for Dogging, Crane, and Working in a Confined Space Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) You do not need to match every listed expectation to apply for this position.
