With over 25 years industry experience our skilled team deliver reliable and cost-effective solutions to meet the needs of our clients Australia-wide.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an experienced Vessel Master with an AMSA Master less than 45 meters near coastal certification to join our Gladstone based operations.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsuring that the vessel is navigated, operated and maintained in accordance with the statutory rules and regulationsEnsure the vessel stability is managed in accordance to the approved trim / stability bookAll matters affecting the safety of the crew, passengers and or subcontractors including the security of the vessel and cargoImplementing and motivation of the crew to adhere to Company Policies and procedures onboard the vesselIssuing orders and providing direction for all crew membersProvide training, guidance and mentoring to all crew where appropriateReviewing the effectiveness of the Company Vessel Safety Management System (VSMS) procedures and report any deficiencies or opportunities for improvementEnsuring that all crew are qualified to serve in the position for which they have been appointed onboard the vessel and verify validity of crew certificatesEnsuring that adequate time and resources are assigned for all onboard tasksEnsuring all vessels certificates, and operational, and safety records are valid and suitably stored in the Vessel Teams folder before demobilising from a projectKey RequirementsGladstone based or willing to relocate – this is not a FIFO position5 years maritime industry experienceMinimum of a Master less than 45 metres near coastal certificationHigh level of computer literacy including MS suiteDetailed knowledge of AMSA and NSCV requirementsSound knowledge of the Port operational requirements applicable for the respective operating areaPrevious experience in a similar roleMSIC CardSTCWSenior First Aid CertificateConfined Space CertificateWorking at Heights CertificateConstruction White CardAMSA MedicalCurrent Valid Driver's licenceHigh Risk Licence – DG, RBThe Benefits:Monday to Friday hours with overtime availableImmediate StartOngoing ContractsSalary packaging optionsEmployee Assistance programEmployee Benefits including discounted health insuranceAll candidates must have the right to live and work in Australia and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment.
