About Us: Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for close to 30 years. The organisation is a bulk billing community-controlled health service, managed by a Board of Directors who oversee and manage the strategic directions of the service.
Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary health and well-being services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Rockhampton and surrounding regions. Bidgerdii collaborates with health and well-being partner agencies to enable integrated continuity of care for the community and continue to work to contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and program reform in Queensland.

About the Role: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain an entry level position that will potentially provide an opportunity for dedicated and passionate individuals to kick start their career within the medical / health service industry whilst completing a Certificate III in a related discipline over a twelve (12) month fixed term traineeship. On successful completion there will be opportunity for full-time permanent employment for the right candidate
The purpose of the Marketing & Communications Trainee is to learn and provide support to the Marketing & Communications Officer to implement the Organisations communication/marketing strategies, build and maintain the online and media presence as well as conduct activities within the community.
This position will assist with the organisation's social media, website, newsletters and media activities under the guidance of the Marketing & Communications Officer.
Duties may include but not limited to:

Possesses a minimum Senior Secondary Certificate year 10 or equivalent. Be willing to participate in future marketing training to grow your career with Bidgerdii. Demonstrate a high level of written communication skills and literacy. Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. An interest in working in the Marketing, Digital Media, or Information Technology industries. Willingness to show initiative and receive training from experienced mentors, receive feedback. Effective and confident interpersonal skills. The ability to work proactively as part of a team and independently to meet deadlines coupled with an attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Minimum Requirements of the role: Successful candidates will be conditional upon meeting the eligibility criteria of traineeship funding including:
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Sound computer skills Willingness to undertake a certificate 3 or higher as part of the traineeship Willingness to undertake a literacy/numeracy assessment Current Drivers Licence - (P) or higCurrent C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) – essential Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, COVID19 and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment. Satisfactory Police Criminal History Check.
