That's Who We Are. That's Target. What will you do? We have an exciting opportunity for a Category Marketing Manager to join our amazing Marketing team on a 12 month contract! The primary purpose of this role is to lead the planning, development, and implementation of category short, long, and always on communication strategy to drive commercial category performance.
The Category Marketing Manager is also responsible for end-to-end project management of Kids, Toys, Soft Home category sales, in addition to leading seasonal events and paid media campaigns, such as Back to School and Easter, in line with Target's values and the management of two category marketing specialists.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Leverage customer insights, data and business objectives to develop short and long term category communication strategy. Translate the Category strategy into actionable communications plans. Responsible for alignment of all Brand Communications and Campaigns to Brand vision, strategy and adherence to brand style guide. Work closely with the Insights, Analytics and Performance Marketing teams to become the expert in customer for category and competitor landscape. Develop a clear POV for both long term and short term agile opportunities to drive commercial outcomes. Inform what category activity is commercially required into the marketing plan. Responsible for managing the 'on time, in full and within budget' delivery of relevant external agencies and suppliers. Responsible for leading the development, completion and communication of the quarterly PIR's to ensure ongoing improvement and efficient use of marketing funds. What are we looking for? We are looking for an individual who has exceptional experience in building strategic campaign and category marketing plans that drive incremental and sustained commercial growth and is able to translate customer and business insights into effective communication strategies.
You will have the following qualifications, experience and knowledge:
7+ years' marketing and communications experience in retail, FMCG or major brands. Tertiary qualification (Marketing, Media, Communications). Sound understanding of retail business. Experience in making a commercial impact, that is measurable and scalable with marketing plans. Demonstrated understanding of integrated marketing projects (i.e. writing briefs based utilising clear customer insights). Proven ability to work and deliver projects as part of a cross-functional team resulting in fully integrated campaigns. Proven ability to engage stakeholders through the development, execution and review process of customer communications. Proven results working in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines. Experience in leading a team by providing clear direction, coaching and guidance.
