Perth Racing (the trading name of the Western Australian Turf Club) is the premier thoroughbred racing club in WA, operating both Ascot and Belmont Park racecourses.
As a multi-faceted racing, entertainment and event business, we stage more than 100 race meetings per year, including Perth Cup, The Quokka and The Pinnacles series.
The roleWe are currently looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional to lead our small and dedicated marketing and communications function, with responsibility for all advertising campaigns and promotional initiatives across traditional and digital platforms, including Member and partner marketing extensions.
Highly organised, with an agile and innovative approach, you will thrive on the challenge of driving continuous improvement in response to ever-emerging opportunities in a pressured environment.
You will enjoy developing a structured approach to support the delivery of agreed KPIs across Partnerships, Race Day and Non-Race Day profit centres.
As the primary marketing interface with key internal stakeholders, agencies and contracted resource, you will ensure the delivery of effective campaigns and initiatives that are evidence based and data driven.
You will have a meticulous eye for detail and be highly proficient in measurement and reporting to illustrate the achievement of KPIs including ROI.
With excellent relationship building, communication and presentation skills, you will demonstrate a natural affinity for customer perspective, along with the commercial acumen required to ensure clear emphasis and prioritisation, along with the best possible presentation of on-course brand extensions and experiences.
Working week – please noteSome Saturday working is required through Carnival seasons, for which time in lieu will be offered.
Skills and experienceWe are seeking a highly motivated, creative team player with the following skills and experience:
Education / Certificates / LicencesA tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, events or a similar field would be desirable.Experience and KnowledgeComprehensive knowledge of all aspects of marketing and brand management.Knowledge of corporate communications / media relations.Competent project management skills, expert in planning and prioritisation, scoping, measuring and reporting.Effective and motivational people manager, demonstrable track record in optimising small teams.Proven experience in leading teams to develop and execute effective marketing strategies and campaigns.Excellent relationship building, communication and presentation skills.Successful track record in leveraging emerging digital / social media platforms to drive engagement.Significant experience gained in a management role in PR or marketing - ideally in tourism, hospitality, retail or entertainment sectors, or in the events industry.Knowledge of market research, benchmarking and analytics; familiar with interpreting customer data and brand metrics to identify and provide recommendations for the ongoing effectiveness of marketing campaigns and stakeholder communications.Experience in overseeing web content management systems and Adobe Creative Suites, HubSpot and other marketing automation experience.Experience of comprehensive budget management.Why Perth Racing?Perth Racing is a vibrant and highly supportive organisation with a proud history and an exciting future.
