Market Stall Staff/ Creative Events StaffAcorn Print StudioDeadline: 05 January 2025 at 23:55Opportunity to work at a makers market, selling artwork for local small businesses.Acorn Print Studio is a small independent Edinburgh-based business run by Lorna Johnson, specializing in various forms of printmaking, illustration, and textile printing.A unique position is available to work on my stall at the Tron Art Market on the Royal Mile 2 days a week, Sundays and Mondays 10am-6pm, at £13 per hour. Start date is mid-January, training will be included. This is a permanent position, with a 3-month trial period.Responsibilities include:Selling and promoting the artworkCashing up at the start/end of dayCustomer engagementRestocking the stall/stock checksHandling sales on Zettle and cash salesKeeping the stall tidy and professionally presentedNecessary skills:Confidence with customer engagementExcellent communication skillsInterest and understanding of printmaking, especially lino cutting (training will be provided)Healthy work environment and attitude, with the ability to work alongside other staff and interact with me and other stall holdersExperience working within markets and creative events or arts (desired but not necessary)Retail or customer service experience desiredConscientious and thorough with tasks and customer engagementI'm looking for someone who is mature and responsible and understands the nature of selling for a small business, with a keen interest in the arts and creative events.This role would suit someone looking for part-time hours who enjoys working in a creative environment.
